What do you think?

With Christmas coming up, I'm starting to think of what to get sweet girl. The Lord willing, she'll be home in November and we will be celebrating the best Christmas ever!

So, for all you parent's of older babies (she'll be 16 months at Christmas) what do you recommend as a toy that your child/children loved/love? Of course, keep in mind we just payed for an adoption so prices have to be good! :-)

I can't wait to hear from you to get some good ideas and see who all is really reading this blog!!

Beth, I think you should get her an American Girl "Bitty Baby" with matching gown/pjs for IF. You can order the skin, hair, and eye color you choose. American Girl dolls are a little pricey but they are good quality and will grow up with IF. If I think of anything else I'll let you know but I think a new baby is the best gift for her first Christmas at home. Love and prayers! Tammy

Beth,

You can't go wrong with a little kitchen and some play food. If you watch, you can usually find them at garage sales or used baby stores for a pretty good price. We have one we bought when Kayla was 2 and 7 years later, it's still getting used by Nathan and now by Samantha. I'm actually considering a new one when Vanni gets home. Little Tykes makes the Inside/Outside Cook 'n Grill™ Kitchen which is a kitchen on one side and a bbq on the other...little more "boy" appropriate! =) What a wonderful Christmas you shall have!!

Love ya!

Well having boys I would have to choose something "ACTIVE" just now walking a push/ride-on toy is great! My Leevi was 16 months at Christmas and we bought him one that he loved!!! There were a lot of laughs and smiles that Christmas Morning. His ofcourse was a little police car, but they have some cute Dora one's that have the handle in the back to push, and you can ride them too. Pretty inexpensive also around $30.00! HE was so excited to be driving himself! I will never ever forget it!

both are great ideas, and yard sale yard sale yard sale! Probably wrap up boxes of packing peanuts. She will have more fun with the paper and this will be her first Christmas that she will enjoy. She will be old enough to pull paper off of boxes!

I like the topic of this post. Johanna will be 17 months at Christmas and I am already thinking and looking for something. Some things that Johanna really likes now are slides, tunnels, and the Little Tikes Coupe.
I am thinking about a kitchen for Christmas. I will be checking back here to see what is suggested to you.

I like Susannah love getting things at yard sales. Tabitha seems to enjoy stuffed animals (I buy those new), toys that play music and her rocking horse---found one like new at a yard sale for $2. She enjoys the boxes and the paper though as much as presents.

Beth,
I think you need to buy Isabella Faye a double stroller so you can let Isabella push Susannah's twins around when God brings them to her.
Also buy her a little Tyke Swing so you can sit outside with her and push her over and over again. All of my children enjoyed swinging and laughing in their little swings.
I can't wait to see Isabella with my eyes. She has been in my heart for months.
Love ya,

Definitely consignment shops. One Christmas I bought almost everything for both girls at consignment shops. At that age they loved this car they could sit on a push with their feet and they could stand and push from the back. They took turns pushing each other around the kitchen. Also, they loved this collapsible ball pit with lots of plastic balls. It had openings on either side so they could crawl through. We got it at Target. They loved and still love the Little People playsets. We have the dollhouse, the farm, and the nativity set. It will be the best Christmas.

definitely the Leap Frog groove and play activity table (not sure if that is the exact name). Both my girls LOVED it.
