Sweet girl and I recently traveled to see Aunt Bebby (Betsy) and the crew. We had a wonderful time shopping and playing. As hard as our adoption was and as real and profound as the pain still is, I will always have these incredible friends family.

Happy Birthday Nana!

A very happy birthday to Isabella Faye's foster mom, Nana Janeth. Nana and her family cared for IF just like their very own for almost 15 months. During that time they sent us pictures and video clips several times a week. I had the privilege of spending time with them on my visits and came to love them very much. Nana did an incredible job with IF and I owe her so much.

We love you Nana! Happy Birthday!

Okay, I admit it...I let my baby watch that cartoon with a certain goofy sponge and his undersea friends. I know its not the best...but when, upon only having been home a few days, she saw it on and hugged and kissed the TV screen...well the rest is history...

My Mom

On this day in 1992, my mother, my hero, Rita Faye, died. Usually on this day I'm very sad. This year, I am sad...but when I look into the face of my daughter, Isabella Faye, I am comforted. As I mother her, my mother is always with me. I am reminded of all the things she said and did to make my childhood so great. Every single day, I am reminded of my mother in everything I do/say/am as a mother. My mother is with me more now then she has since she died. I am so immeasurably thankful to my great God who allows me to feel her presence and her spirit as I mother Isabella Faye. If I am half the mother she was, IF will be just fine!

I don't have any pictures of her on my computer but I'll scan some tomorrow at Aunt K's to share with you.

Tonight enjoy a picture of our living Faye, who I tell about her Gram Faye every day.

Toddler Tales

Today began a special program at our local library for toddlers. IF had so much fun. She made many new friends and I had the opportunity to befriend some other moms and reunite with some moms I hadn't seen in a while...some since we had kids!

Favorite Foto Friday-OUT and Happy Birthday Mommy!

This week's FFF is out! My take on this is take me out to the ballgame!

A few days before my birthday Aunt K and the boys took IF and I to a ballgame of the new minor league team in our area. We had an awesome time!

Then, yesterday on my birthday, Hubby and Isabella Faye took me out to one my my all time favorite restaurants and then to a ball game. This was after IF presented me with an adorable framed picture of me and her that Aunt Di had taken and Hubby sent me on a hunt throughout our house for small denominations of money which added up to some great spending cash for my trip to see Aunt Betsy (outlet mall and I kea!)

I almost forgot the Crack@r Barr@ll and totally awesome diaper/bag tote that Aunt Betsy game me when we saw them last weekend!

I like to stretch my b-day as long as possible!
